Ice rink to open at the Market Common

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Few people in Myrtle Beach plan to spend the holiday season skating outside, but that is something the Market Common is working to change.
Opening to the public on Dec. 19, the Market Common’s Valor Park will open a synthetic ice rink. To keep from constantly having to use water and electricity to keep the ice from melting, the rink is made of a special type of plastic that along with the friction of real ice skates releases a lubricating solution allowing skaters to feel as though they are on real ice.
